Why do a one night in the desert with camping?

An experience for those who want to trek across the dunes and lagoons of Lençóis Maranhenses and spend a night camping amid the scenery of the National Park.

16 km trek | 1 night camping

This tour was designed for those who want a more immersive experience in Lençóis Maranhenses, but without spending several days on a multi-day trek.

It's two days of trekking through the dunes and lagoons, with one night camping in the Oásis Baixa Grande area.

The route combines moments of trekking, swimming in the lagoons, and taking in the sunrise and sunset, plus the experience of sleeping right inside the National Park.

The camping setup is handled by our team, while a support guide accompanies the group to carry the larger gear, such as tents, chairs, and cooking equipment.

Camping

The group will be picked up at their pousadas starting at 4:30 AM in Barreirinhas. For participants staying in Atins, pickup starts at 6:30 AM.

In 4x4 vehicles, we drive for approximately 2 hours toward the National Park, along an off-road route to the area near Rio Negro.

Along the way, we make a stop for a breakfast snack and to watch the sunrise.

From there, the trek begins, covering approximately 6 km over an average of 2 to 3 hours, to Oásis Baixa Grande, with stops for swimming in the lagoons.

Arrival at the oasis is expected at 10:30 AM, followed by lunch at 11:00 AM.

After resting, we resume the trek for another 6 km to the camping area.

Upon arrival, the team sets up the camp and prepares the trail dinner.

Overnight: camping area in Lençóis Maranhenses.

Barreirinhas

Breakfast, prepared by the guide, will be served at 7:00 AM. At 7:30 AM, we begin the return trek toward the Bandeira area.

Along the way, we take advantage of the early hours of the day, with the chance to swim in the lagoons and take in the scenery.

It's approximately 4 km of trekking, with arrival expected at 11:00 AM.

From Bandeira, we head by 4x4 to Canto do Atins, where lunch will be served.

After a short rest, we board the 4x4 again for the return to Barreirinhas.

The tour ends with drop-off at participants' pousadas.
