Our story

Born in the Lençóis

We were born in Barreirinhas, in the heart of the Lençóis Maranhenses, and since 2013 we've worked to provide authentic, well-run experiences in this territory we know so closely.

Our main specialty is trekking itineraries through the Lençóis Maranhenses, with different crossings and experiences that let you explore the Park beyond the traditional routes.

We're a family business with a team of experienced guides and conductors, including partner professionals who share our way of working, our values, and our commitment to responsible, safe, and welcoming tourism.

We also partner with local communities and other professionals, helping strengthen community-based tourism and celebrate the culture, knowledge, and people who are part of the Lençóis Maranhenses.

Patrício Zelarayán

Born in Barreirinhas and raised in the Lençóis Maranhenses region, Patrício has been leading treks through the National Park since 2013. He also studied Tourism, adding academic knowledge to years of hands-on experience in the field.

Passionate about trekking, he also leads crossings in different destinations across Brazil and abroad, staying in constant contact with new environments, experiences, and lessons.

He has experience guiding families, couples, and large groups, having led treks with more than 20 people. His specialty is long-distance trekking and camping.

Marcelo Zelarayán

Born in Barreirinhas, Marcelo is an agricultural engineer with a master's degree in Agroecology. It was in tourism, and especially in outdoor experiences, that he found one of his great passions.

He has worked as a tour conductor since 2016 and has in-depth knowledge of the biology and ecosystems of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Throughout the treks, he enjoys sharing information, stories, and curiosities that help visitors better understand the territory.

Trekking is also part of his personal life. He has completed crossings in different destinations across Brazil and abroad, constantly learning and expanding his experience in natural environments.

He has experience with couples, families, and groups of different sizes, including leading large groups. His specialty is trekking through the Park's primitive zone.

Turismóloga, organização e coordenação

Alana Paixão

From Maranhão and a tourism professional since 2007, Alana brings together experience in hospitality, customer service, events, food and beverage, and team coordination.

At Paraíso do Caju Turismo, she handles planning, organization, and coordination of the experiences in the Lençóis Maranhenses. She follows every step of the trip, from the first contact and itinerary planning to service organization and group departures, making sure every detail is aligned before and during the experience.

We're a formally registered agency and our conductors are certified to guide within the National Park.
